Wellness Tours – Yoga and Ayurveda

Find Your Balance

Take time to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

More Than a Spa Break

A holiday doesn’t always need to be about seeing as much as possible. Sometimes it’s simply a chance to slow down, breathe deeply and give your body and mind a real break from the pace of everyday life.

Our yoga and Ayurveda wellness tours are for travellers who want to relax, restore their energy and finally take time for themselves.

For these trips, we focus on India, Nepal and Sri Lanka — three destinations where ancient traditions, nature and wellbeing come together in remarkable ways.

India has a special place in this journey. Yoga has its roots here, and Ayurveda is one of India’s major traditional systems of health and wellbeing.

We bring these traditions together with carefully selected centres and retreats, experienced practitioners, balanced food and peaceful surroundings to create a trip centred on your wellbeing.

A wellness trip with Guide Explorateur is more than booking a massage at a luxury hotel. It can become a complete experience shaped around your body, mind and personal sense of balance.

Depending on your interests and the programme you choose, your stay may include:

Yoga sessions with experienced teachers Meditation and breathing exercises Ayurvedic consultations and treatments Traditional Ayurvedic massages Wellness treatments and practices Relaxation and revitalisation programmes Healthy, thoughtfully prepared meals Nature walks and gentle outdoor activities Time to rest and reflect Naturopathy and healthy-living programmes Spiritual and cultural experiences Stays at specialist centres, wellness establishments and retreats

Take time to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

Discover Yoga Where It Began

Yoga is practised around the world today. But experiencing it in India, at the heart of the culture and traditions in which it originated, gives it another dimension.

Imagine starting your day with a sunrise yoga session, surrounded by mountains or forests, beside a river or in the quiet of a traditional retreat.

Continue with a moment of meditation. Enjoy a nourishing breakfast. Spend a few hours at an Ayurvedic centre. Set aside an afternoon to rest. Then end the day peacefully, simply in your own company.

Whether you are discovering yoga for the first time or have practised for years, we can help you find a yoga retreat in India suited to your experience, your expectations and the way you like to travel.

You don’t need to be an expert to begin.

The Seven Chakras in the Yoga Tradition

Some yoga traditions describe seven main chakras, presented symbolically as energy centres extending from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Their meanings and associations can vary between traditions.

1st chakra — Muladhara, the root chakra: grounding, stability and security 2nd chakra — Svadhisthana, the sacral chakra: creativity, emotions and flow 3rd chakra — Manipura, the solar plexus chakra: willpower, confidence and inner strength 4th chakra — Anahata, the heart chakra: compassion, openness and emotional balance 5th chakra — Vishuddha, the throat chakra: expression and communication 6th chakra — Ajna, the third-eye chakra: intuition, concentration and clarity 7th chakra — Sahasrara, the crown chakra: awareness and spiritual connection

Depending on the tradition and teacher, yoga sessions may combine postures, breathing exercises, meditation, concentration and visualisation inspired by these symbolic centres.

This approach may help travellers slow down, become more aware of their breathing and body, cultivate calm and deepen their personal experience of yoga. It should not be presented as a medical treatment or as a promise that the chakras will be “rebalanced”.

Ayurveda: An Ancient Indian Tradition

Ayurveda, whose name means “the science of life”, is one of India’s traditional systems of health and wellbeing. Its holistic approach takes into account lifestyle, diet, daily habits and individual balance.

Our Ayurvedic stays in India can include several days at carefully selected centres, where qualified practitioners offer programmes tailored to individual needs.

Depending on the centre and the programme you choose, your stay may include:

Ayurvedic consultations Traditional Ayurvedic massages Herbal treatments and traditional wellbeing practices Dietary advice Yoga and meditation Relaxation treatments Programmes focused on lifestyle and daily habits Restorative and wellbeing stays

We carefully select the centres and practitioners we recommend.

Your wellbeing comes first.

Understanding Vata, Pitta and Kapha

In the Ayurvedic tradition, Vata, Pitta and Kapha are the three doshas — principles used to understand individual constitution, habits and personal balance.

Each person has a unique combination, although one or two doshas are often considered dominant.

Vata — traditionally associated with movement, air, space and adaptability Pitta — traditionally associated with transformation, heat, digestion and intensity Kapha — traditionally associated with stability, structure, earth, water and endurance

At carefully selected Ayurvedic centres, a consultation with a qualified practitioner can introduce you to your traditional constitution and the role attributed to the three doshas.

Depending on the centre and programme you choose, your stay may combine a tailored diet, yoga, meditation, Ayurvedic massages, relaxation and lifestyle guidance. In the Ayurvedic tradition, these practices aim to encourage a more balanced way of living.

This experience is not a medical diagnosis or treatment, and does not replace appropriate medical care.

Give Your Body and Mind Time to Breathe

Modern life can be demanding. Long hours at a desk, constant travel, stress and the habit of always being connected can leave us longing for something very simple.

A moment to stop.

Enjoy an Ayurvedic massage Practise gentle yoga Meditate Walk in nature

Eat well Sleep without setting an alarm Step away from screens Simply take time to breathe

If you have a specific health condition, we recommend speaking to a qualified healthcare professional before travelling and before starting any wellbeing programme.

Traditional practices and wellbeing programmes should complement appropriate medical care, not replace it.

Wellbeing Begins with What You Eat

Food plays an important part in our wellbeing. Our wellness tours can include meals suited to your chosen programme, with an emphasis on fresh, balanced and nourishing food.

Depending on your destination, you can discover the principles of Ayurvedic nutrition, healthy South Indian cuisine, fresh Sri Lankan produce or Himalayan dishes prepared with local ingredients.

You can also learn more about the connections between food, lifestyle and wellbeing traditions.

Sometimes, changing the way you eat can be as rewarding as changing your destination.

Naturopathy and Personalised Wellbeing Programmes

If you would like to explore further, we can arrange stays at specialist centres offering naturopathy and lifestyle-based wellbeing programmes.

Depending on the centre’s approach, these programmes may combine nutrition, yoga, meditation, physical activity, relaxation and various traditional practices.

If you have a particular goal — taking better care of yourself, building healthier habits or reviewing your diet — tell us before your trip.

We can help you find a suitable centre and programme, while ensuring that medical or health-related questions are discussed with the appropriate qualified professionals.

Your wellness journey should remain personal, responsible and carefully planned.

India, Nepal and Sri Lanka: Three Ways to Find Wellbeing

India
India is at the heart of this experience. Yoga, meditation, Ayurveda and traditional retreats can be discovered in Kerala, in the foothills of the Himalayas, in Rajasthan and in many other regions known for their wellbeing traditions.

You can combine your retreat with cultural discoveries, nature, heritage, beaches or a tailor-made private tour in India.

From an Ayurvedic retreat in Kerala to a stay focused on yoga and meditation in the foothills of the Himalayas, India offers countless ways to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

Nepal
In Nepal, wellbeing takes on a special quality against the vastness of the Himalayas. Combine yoga and meditation with mountain scenery, peaceful retreats, Buddhist traditions and time spent in nature.

For some travellers, simply being surrounded by the silence and vastness of the Himalayas is already part of the experience.

Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka offers a wonderful combination of wellbeing, Ayurveda, tropical nature and beaches.

Imagine starting your morning with a yoga session, enjoying an Ayurvedic treatment during the day and ending the afternoon beside the Indian Ocean.

Your wellness stay can also include wildlife watching, cultural discoveries, tea plantations and a few relaxing days on the beach.

Wellbeing Can Be Part of a Longer Journey

You don’t have to spend your entire holiday at a retreat. We can include a few days focused on wellbeing as part of a more complete tailor-made journey.

Discover Rajasthan before continuing your trip with an Ayurvedic retreat in Kerala.

Explore Nepal’s cultural heritage before setting aside a few days for yoga and meditation in the Himalayas.

Discover Sri Lanka’s ancient cities and wildlife parks before unwinding at an Ayurvedic centre near the coast.

Travel | Discover | Then slow down
Or slow down first, before setting out to explore.

Your pace shapes the journey.

A Journey for Body, Mind and Balance

Perhaps you simply need to switch off after a demanding period at work. Perhaps you’d like to discover yoga in the country where it originated. Maybe you’re curious to learn more about Ayurveda. Perhaps you dream of a few days at a peaceful retreat overlooking the Himalayas. You might want to build healthier habits, or simply spend a few days doing nothing but taking care of yourself.

Whatever your reason, we can help you find the setting, programme and destination that suit you.

Slow down.
Breathe.
Reconnect with yourself.
Return with renewed energy.

Tell us what you’re looking for, and together we’ll create a wellness journey that feels right for you.
